Annabelle's Place

It's a new BSG housing area along Lembah Permai (again). I guess each house would cost at least half a million or so. There are two rows of shop houses which seems to cater for the upmarket. I fumbled upon this Annabelle's Place cafe (named after the owner, Annabelle Teow). The setting is very, very English/British-like. I won't say it's replica of Winters' Warmers, yet it's somewhat similar. What I like what it has Afternoon Tea Set which cost Rm6.90 each, that comes with a pot of tea and 2 scones. It felt like Cameron highlands (T-cafe) or perhaps, Penang Hill (David Brown) ? The ambience is just so cosy. And here comes my carbonara fettucine. The plates are BIG, yet the servings is just too little.. :( The spoon is huge and reflective for a good check on the acne on our face! I was served by Annabelle's mother, and I would say she was indeed very friendly and it felt very much like a family business + cosy environment. I would definitely go back there

Summer Garden Tanjung Bungah

I have heard of this Summer Garden cafe somewhere along Lembah Permai area in Penang, but I couldn't find the place previously. It's a corner house just along the main road (near TAR college) after the winding road of Mt Erskine. It seemed to be cozy, since it's Summer Garden. However, I find that the price is quite costly, yet the food is just so-so. Here's the bar counter: And the non-smoking area with comfy couch: And we could actually use this to call for services, CALL/BILL/WATER. Cool huh? I tried some milk+honey+yolk summer drink. I could only taste strong honey taste in the milk. The egg taste was barely there. And, the two mushrooms are pathetic yet expensive!! Guess it's a place for relaxation!

A day A coffee Keeps the Doctor Away

The only rewarding 'benefits' that I have in my company is the FREE coffee that I have to steal from the meeting room. Nescafe is too BITTER. Espresso is EVEN more BITTER. Milo is too sweet. Tea is too sweet. Chococino is sweet as well. Cafe mocha is a mixture of bittersweet And.. Yes.. the sugar tastes a little weird. And there there.. My cappuccino....

A little Relieved..

I wanted to wait if the Oil price would decrease further even though I have only a little petrol left in my car. Glad that I waited! Tonight, I can fill up my petrol tank, which I hope cost less than RM90! It used to be only about Rm60+ for a tank full, now that I have to pay nearly Rm100. I'm just hoping that prices of other stuff would decrease, especially FOOD.

Monday Movie Day - Mamma Mia

Finally, after being a nuffnanger for 3 months, I was invited for a free movie at GSC Gurney. Thanks, nuffnang. Again and again. Free movie for 3. Thanks. :D The blogger community was exceptionally quiet compared to the usual cinema crowd. Perhaps, maybe, they only TALK in their blog. I dont' know. Even as we were watching a few minutes of the silent movie, there were not a single 'hoo-ing' or banana-throwing at the screens. I was looking hard to see if I know anyone. I guess it's just 5xmom with her anti-ISA tshirt. Hm.. Somewhat, after watching the movie, I felt that it was just morally so wrong. Am I too rational? 1. How can one has 3 fathers? Shouldn't they do a DNA check first? 2. Does that mean it's alright sleeping with 3 men one after another and get pregnant and raise the child in an island? 3. It seemed ok for the daughter to just call off the wedding. 4. And, the pastor actually solemnized their wedding just like that? They don't even need to att

How to be a good Web Programmer

It was a visit to St Nicholas Home for the Visually Impaired. They opened up their home for the public for jumble sale of used things and books, as well as cookies and cakes. Now they even have a SNH massage services. Whole body massage is RM38 while Foot reflexology cost RM28. One fact that caught my attention by the IT Trainer in the IT lab was, to try to develop web pages which is more friendly to the visually impaired. He gave an example of the tm.net.my page. There were just too many pages that the software, JAWS is not able to recognize the images. It could only help to READ the web contents in words. Weather was Hot. I'm getting sick.

Facebook Scare

Scary huh? Facebook tells everything about your private life. I feel so EXPOSED. I received numerous comments, SMSes, IMs, FTF confrontation from people asking about this change of relationship status. It was not even mentioned if I was married or engaged or in a relationship. People tend to like to jump into conclusion.

Give Your Blood

It's a yearly blood donation at my church during the Ramadhan month. The blood bank in the Penang Hospital is always indicating 'RENDAH' (low). I looked a bit cacat here, but thanks to my CG member who was ever willing to snap a picture for me with her Canon. Few things to take note if you are an eligible donor: 1. Weight > 45kg I saw the youths who were 40kgs trying their luck. 2. Must not stay with any family member who had Hepatitis. 3. Must NOT be older than 50 yrs old, unless you are a frequent donor. 4. Cannot donate if you have stayed in UK. Mad cow disease ka? or any other countries. 5. Pregnant or menstruating. Oops. I lied to a doctor before when I was menstruating last time. 6. Sufficient sleep (> 6 hrs of sleep) 7. No piercing/tattoo. Piercing > 1 year 8. No Hypertension/low blood pressure 9. Cholestrol also cannot be HIGH. :P lolz.. :D :P And to know how much you have donated: 1. less than 55kg == only 300 ml 2. more than 55kg == 450 ml 3. 250ml == i d

Forgiveness

It's been a long time since we had guest speakers who bring their personal life experiences into the sermons. Most pastors will share what is from the bible. The characters from the bible. Learn from them. Now that we could learn from a drug trafficker who turned over a new leaf. His offences were erased permanently by the judge, just like God erased our sins (Romans 6:18 You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness). His name is Daniel Ross. He was bold and had the courage to relate his past to us so that we could learn from him. He reminded me that money is the root of evil. He reminded me that as long as we don't surrender ourselves to God 100%, we will not not receive God's blessings and forgiveness. I had a past, just like him. I thought I had already shown forgiveness to the person who had once hurt me deeply. I don't hate that person anymore, in fact, I tried to show more love. However, the feeling of looking back to the past was just W

Carry One another's Burdens

I remembered once someone whom I used to be very close with told me about a dream some time back. When the dream was told, I remembered the picture in the Good News bible (similar to what is shown) in Galatians 6:2. It was a long queue where each of us were carryingour load climbing up to an infinity stairs. It was scorching hot that I perspired so much, moroever, with the weights that I was carrying. He was running around up and down the stairs being the messenger of all people, helping out if anyone decides to fall or fail to carry its own burden. To me, I find that he was like a free man, yet we are suffering from carrying the burdens. He asked if I needed help. I think I said I was tired. Is the dream telling him that the world was tired and under suffering? I think the whole of Galatians 5-6 speaks.

God of All Comfort

3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. 5For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. 6If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. 7And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort. 2 Corinthians 1:3-7 Feeling almost hopeless, I tried to tell myself to ask my sovereign God to give me strength and hope. Instead of tossing around my bed, I decided to get up to get myself refreshed from ODB . It's tough time but knowing that God is our comforter, helps me to learn to rely on God totally. O God, gives me the strengt

Miss Saigon, E-Gate Penang

Was trying to take the effects of the dripping sauce of the vietnamese spring rolls. And the watever BBQ stuff they had. And the bamboo beef.. That comes with Instant Vietnamese Coffee. It's a little pricey, but there is a set lunch promo on weekdays, with smaller servings. Each set comes with a drink (I took the coffee, definitely). I doubt I would want to visit here in the near future. It's really pricey since it's Vietnamese Fine Dining. I could imagine that I had really cheap food while I was at HCMC then.

Big Market (lau-pat-sat) Kuey cheap Sky buffet's delicacies/cakes (or kuih) I love those green bean stuff the most. And surprisingly, Thai's kuihs are not as sweet and oily as the ones in Malaysia. Mango Pulut rice in MBK that costs THB70. OVERPRICED! The cheaper version on styrofoam in Hatyai -> courtesy of su-yin's camera. Bird nest -> courtesy of su-yin's camera. KFC's sundae. Look at the layers and dipped chocolate cherry! I think it's smashed banana and a with Coconut strips at Lau pat sat. The THAIs called it KAU SAI. I dont' know why!!!!! Junks from TOPS supermarket. Things To-do When You Are Flying Back

Bye, Bangkok . The cigarettes are very cruel. The consequences of puffing too much. Pictures of people with ugly teeth, throat, lungs and arms. Since it's good to check-in early, there is ample space for anyone to practically do-nonsense. Like posing with the Parfumes? Sampling their famous pork meat floss rice cracker THB140. Go elsewhere for more sampling.. And a variety of pancakes (eg. chocolate flavoured) Or endless of taking their tuk-tuk and elephant chocolates of different flavours (eg. macademia nuts, milk chocolate) Before entering the no-bottles-liquid area: And their aircon/air filter looks like this: And now.. I'm resting peacefully at the plane, all by myself. And a small glass of wine to go into deep sleep. The coconut dessert that I brought home:
